When the ugly face;
Grasps the fine face;
This cry always goes:
“Please, rescue me!”
“E jowo, gbami o!”
[Yoruba language]
“Biko, napụta m!”
[Igbo language]
Don Allah, cece ni
[Hausa language]
When the ugly face;
Grasps the fine face;
Here’s an admonition;
From elder bystander:
Weep not, my child;
Had not your hand;
Broken the face of;
Your lordship-keep;
Weep not, my child!
Weep not, my child;
Did you not ride in;
His celestial ‘mnibus;
Over the rest of us-
Shrouded puppet;
Weep not, my child!
=DEOLA.
