MY LIFE

“Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind. These passions, like great winds, have blown me hither and thither, in a wayward course, over a deep ocean of anguish, reaching to the very verge of despair. I have sought love, first, because it brings ecstasy — ecstasy so great that I would often have sacrificed all the rest of life for a few hours of this joy. I have sought it, next, because it relieves loneliness — that terrible loneliness in which one shivering consciousness looks over the rim of the world into the cold unfathomable lifeless abyss. I have sought it, finally, because in the union of love I have seen, in a mystic miniature, the prefiguring vision of the heaven that saints and poets have imagined. This is what I sought, and though it might seem too good for human life, this is what — at last — I have found. With equal passion I have sought knowledge. I have wished to understand the hearts of men. I have wished to know why the stars shine. And I have tried to apprehend the Pythagorean power by which number holds sway above the flux. A little of this, but not much, I have achieved. Love and knowledge, so far as they were possible, led upward toward the heavens. But always pity brought me back to Earth. Echoes of cries of pain reverberate in my heart. Children in famine, victims tortured by oppressors, helpless old people a hated burden to their sons, and the whole world of loneliness, poverty and pain make a mockery of what human life should be. I long to alleviate the evil, but I cannot, and I too suffer. This has been my life. I have found it worth living, and would gladly live it again if the chance were offered me. =========“Bertrand Russell

EXCESSIVE CRAVING!!!

Once upon a time, a hunter went out on hunting. On his path, he met with a big fleshy snake that attracted his attention. As he cocked his gun in attempt to shoot at, and kill this snake, there burst out a mysterious song of warning from the snake, pleading that it should not be killed; else the hunter would incur a mother of all consequences:
Ode ma pami;
Ode ma pami;
Tio ba pami;
O p’ejo nla;
Tere alumanja!
Alumanja tere o!
Tere alumanja!

TRANSLATION:
Hunter, don’t kill me;
Hunter, don’t kill me;
Else, you’d kill;
A mysterious snake;
This is for you;
A warning;
Heartfelt warning;
That’d be enough

However, as it’s the wont of hunter egomaniac bravery, the hunter disregarded the snake admonition. He shot and killed the snake. As he prepared to make meal of this snake, the mysterious song burst out again, warning the hunter from making meal of the snake:

Ode ma sunmi;
ode ma sunmi;
Tio ba sunmi,
O sun ejo nla;
Tere alumanja;
Alumanja tere o;
Tere alumanja!

TRANSLATION:
Hunter, don’t roast me;
Hunter, don’t roast me;
Else, you’d roast;
A mysterious snake;
This is for you;
A warning;
Heartfelt warning;
That’d be enough

The hunter disregarded the warning again. He made meal of the snake. As he sat down to eat and merriment, the mysterious song rang out for the last time:

Ode ma jemi;
Ode ma jemi;
Tio ba jemi;
O j’ejo nla;
Tere alumanja;
Alumanja tere o;
Tere alumanja!

TRANSLATION:
Hunter, don’t eat me;
Hunter, don’t eat me;
Else, you’d eat;
A mysterious snake;
This is for you;
Heartfelt warning;
That’d be enough!

Unfortunately, our hunter would not compromise, or surrogate his excess craving for meat. He ate the snake. It did not take couple of minutes before he began to feel constipation. His stomach became bloated and limbs became stunted. He was hypoxemic. Regrettably, his stomach burst open, and the snake mysteriously resurrected, and crawled out unhurt from the hunter’s belly. He, who laughs last, laughs best.

B4 WE BOARD 2012

THEY HAD COME ALONG, LIKE US;
MEN AND WOMEN;
MARRIED OR SINGLE;
CHILDREN AND ADULTS;
TOGETHER, WE’D BOARDED THE TRAIN JAN 2011;
IN ESTEEMED HOPE TO DISEMBARK DEC 2011;
TRANSFER TO ANOTHER TRAIN JAN 2012;
IN FURTHERANCE OF OUR JOURNEY;
 OUT OF DESOLATE DARKNESS;
TO THE DAWN OF THE TWILIGHT;
THE LAND OF THE MARVELOUS LIGHT;
AHEAD OF US, LO, THE ROSEATE GLOWS;
INNA CLOSE DISTANCE;
AND OUR PILOT HAD ANNOUNCED;
WE’D BE TRANSFERRING IN MINUTES;
HAD’NT SEEN A DEMON LURKED ON THE TRACK;
BOMBS ON HIS RIGHT HAND;
IN HIS LEFT HAND, HELD HIM AK47;
WAITING TO SPILL OUR BLOODS;
FOR THE REMISSION OF SIN COMMITTED;
 NOT BY THE ORDER OF PONTIUS PILATE;
THAT CRUCIFIED CHRIST JESUS;
BUT BY THE ORDER OF YARADUA/JONA;
THAT KILLED FUDU BOKO-HARAM;
SUDDENLY, IT HAD HAPPENED SO FAST;
BEFORE A CHILD COULD’VE SAID MAMA;
A LOUD BLAST, FOLLOWED BY LOUDER ONES;
BULLETS FLIED! PEOPLE FLIED! TRAIN FLIED!
SOME AMONG US WERE INJURED;
SOME WERE AMPUTATED;
SOME FLIED WILD, ACROSS ETERNAL BRIDGE;
AND NEVER, OUR EYES ‘LL SEE THEM AGAIN;
US WHO ARE ALIVE, HAIL, AND HEARTY;
HERE YET, IS A TRANSFERRING TRAIN;
BUT BEFORE WE WILL GET ON BOARD;
LET US STAND UP IN SOLEMN PRAYER;
FOR THE SOULS THAT DIED IN BOMBS;
A TRIBUTE TO THE SARCROSANT OF LIFE;
WISH US ALL SAFE JOURNEY IN 2012.
THANK YOU.  ==deola.

WORLD OF MUMUNITY!!!

I was a college instructor;
Unbearably tending to my class;
In math, history or geography;
Until a voice rang out, saying;
Put ye on your shoes;
For the instructorship thou are;
Is an unholy place of the riches;
Forgo ye this land, and come with me;
I’ve prepare a place for you in theology;
Where you’ll ride in jets above the sky so high;
Above the paupers of your congregations;
For verily, from he that has not;
More will be taken from him;
In accordance to the law of osmosis;
Sayest not I the lord;
But the love of your ambition.
Yes, I was an accountant;
Tending to my book keeping;
All hadn’t been rosy;
Balancing had always yielded negative;
Until one day, lo, heaven opened above me;
A voice rang out, saying!
Your cry has reached unto me;
Forgo ye the barren land of accounting;
Come, theology is the alternative for you;
Soon, uncountable will be your Rolls Royce;
You’ll build terbanacle and university;
Even from daily toil and sweat of your congregation;
Will you flourished and dined at ease;
Sayest not I the lord;
But the greed dwelleth within you.
This is how the snake has feasted;
Ever since, on Adam and eve “mumunity”;
Yes, “mumunity”, and if you doubt my vocabulary;
Let me show you from oduacyclopedia;
From the spiritual proximity of Lamurudu;
Ancient odu oro of ancestral Yorubas;
Beyond the Garden of Eden;
“Mumunity” is a synonym of “stupidity”;
Shout a-la-la-yah (hallelujah), somebody!
Arapachapa chapa chapa... (Speaking in tongue)

PEACE ON EARTH

“Heaven on Earth;
 We need it now;
I'm sick of all of this:
 Hanging around;
Sick of sorrow:
 Sick of the pain;
I'm sick of hearing;
 Again and again;
That there's gonna be;
Peace on Earth;
Where I grew up;
There weren't many trees;
Where there was;
 We'd tear them down;
And use them on our enemies;
They say that what you mock;
Will surely overtake you;
And you become a monster;
So the monster won’t break you;
And it's already gone too far;
Who said if you go in hard,
You won't get hurt?
Jesus, can you take the time,
To throw a drowning man a line?
Peace on Earth;
Tell the ones who hear no sound;
Whose sons are living in the ground;
Peace on Earth ;
No whos or whys;
No one cries, like a mother cries;
For peace on Earth;
Jesus, can you take the time,
To throw a drowning man a line?
Peace on Earth;
To tell the ones who hear no sound;
Whose sons are living in the ground;
Peace on Earth;
Jesus, sing the song you wrote;
The words are sticking in my throat;
Peace on Earth;
Hear it every Christmas time;
But hope and history won't rhyme;
So, what's it worth?
This peace on Earth;
Peace on Earth;
Peace on Earth;
Peace on Earth” ======= ====U2
